[Yukina should be used to the strangeness of this world. And yet, no matter how hard she tries, it always manages to surprise her. This was no different as she walked through the area. The moon was full, there was nothing but green in her sight. Whatever was going on, she didn't like it one bit.
Especially when she was alone and she had to get to safety quickly.]
Dazai might not be a combative type, but what he excels at can be used to avoid most of the monsters. It's how he has managed to go out whenever they are in need of supplies, as much as he wants to just laze around and sleep in the safe houses.
He has no interest in meeting his doppelganger, after all.
How lucky then, that he managed to find Yukina in the nick of time. The tug towards her kimono might startle her, but it's a small price to pay when one of the monsters has been slowly meandering towards this way.]
Today's not a great time for a lady to take long walks in the moonlight, miss.
[She was trying her best to pay attention to her surroundings. However, she could only focus so much when there were creatures hell bend on attacking her everywhere she went. The moment she felt a tug, she immediately flinched before attempting to freeze whomever was behind her.
Luckily though, she managed to catch herself in time as she heard a voice. As she looked at the person. she gave a sigh of relief.]
I-I know but you shouldn't be out here either. Isn't it dangerous for you too?
[It's a good thing that Yukina can't freeze him while he's touching her, eh? But there's no harm done at the end of the day.]
And leave you on your own? Nonsense!
[He sounds even miffed at the suggestion that he would just turn tail and run away when he's supposed to be on the side that saves people and all that.]
You've got a point, though. Then how about we head towards a safe house together?
[She said in a low voice. As she stepped out of the alleyway, she looked around to see if there was anything around them. So far, it didn't seem like there was.]
I appreciate the thought, but I don't think you can.
[He cheerfully spreads out his hands, as if he's about to perform the magic trick. The joviality feels out of place with the entire situation, truthfully.]
No skill or special ability works on me. But don't worry - I've been in worse situations than this!
Ah, guess it would be best just to show you. If I may...?
[He then motions to hold up one of Yukina's hands - as careful as he can, as a gentleman should act. So far, nothing seems to have changed, but...]
Now try casting magic.
[Whether it's healing powers or ice powers, whatever Yukina would try to cast immediately fizzles out in a white glow, as if the magic simply unravels apart before it even gets a chance to form.]
That is my own ability, "No Longer Human." It's a bit troublesome, you see - it's always on, even when I'm asleep.
[As she did what she was told, she raised one of her hands up to her face. Not really expecting much, she simply was in awe at the ice that shattered around her. While it wasn't a lot, it was enough to make her momentarily frozen in place.]
How did that...?
She wasn't sure what happened but that's when she realized the creature nearby. With it shrieking, it was coming ever so closer to them!]
That’s my special power, so to speak. [Dazai says it like he has given this explanation a thousand times.] Whether it’s a magic or a special skill, none of those things would ever work on me.
[Unfortunately Dazai’s special powers do not include superhuman senses, and even he jolts in surprise at the sudden appearance of the monster charging at them.]
Watch out!
[Thankfully, he manages to see it just in time. He covers Yukina as he dives down, barely dodging its attack.]
[It was still a strange concept to her. To know that there was a power that could amplify someone's power was unheard of. She was always so used to seeing Yusuke having various items to ensure he gets stronger but this...?
Before she could say anything, she found herself being covered. Looking around, she grabbed his hand without thinking. Quickly, she found herself running out of the alley in hopes that there was nothing around them.]
Not whose owners that I know of, but we don’t really have a choice!
[It’s the least of his problems anyway: he’s perfectly able to barge into house they might need with his trusty lockpick. However, he can’t just use any house: not all residences are safe houses, and there’s a good chance the monsters would just follow them inside.
But they can’t also just run foreveer.]
Wait here. [He motions a finger to Yukina to be quiet as they turn into a corner. There’s a discarded soda can Dazai could use, and he throws that in the opposite direction in hopes the noise would distract it.]
[That was the least of her worries. She can apologize to them later. Right now, they just needed to be safe. Although, she wasn't too sure what she could do for them if they were upset. That was something she needed to figure out for later.
Right now, as she waited for him to throw said soda can in the opposite direction, that was when the creatures follow suit. Without saying another word, she looked at him before gesturing him to go.]
[ The video opens to Mitama, though just like in her recent post, she's wearing her "Santa disguise". She's here on an important business, after all. ]
Ho, ho, ho! Thank you for joining our Secret Santa event~ It's time to find out what ─ or rather who ─ your assignment as Santa's Little Helper for this year is! Drumroll, please...
[ She makes a pause for a dramatic effect, her hand slipping into a Santa hat she's holding and pulling out a small piece of paper with a name on it. ]
It's none other than... Vi, the Iron Fist of Aldrip!
Remember, you should present your assignee with a gift of your choice until December 25th! Good luck, and remember: your main task is to spread joy, happiness and the spirit of Christmas cheer!
[There had been a fight. Kinda? Actually, Richard wasn't sure. But the conversation he had just had with Silco hadn't exactly left him feeling great. Quite the opposite, actually. There was a silent angry storm raging under the calm and collected exterior. But why? That he could not quite pin down. Of course, there was ire and annoyance for being forced to choose between two people he was bound to. Not to mention the last comment from his lover.
Well, whatever. It was enough to drive Richard to the night rather than going back to his shared housing with the other man. Instead he chose out to spend his time in lonesome. And well, seeing that The Last Drop was out of the question he made his way to Lupin. He was well aware that Vi wouldn't be there, seeing that her disappearance had been the originally been the reason he contacted Silco.
He walks down the stairs to the basement level where the bar is located to, opens the door and looks inside. It seems like there is no one tending the bar. Just a lone man sitting at the counter, seemingly nursing a drink. Richard stalls at the door, considering for a brief moment before choosing to turn away.]
[A voice suddenly rings out from the lone customer at the empty bar. Dazai pats at the empty chair beside him.]
Come, take a seat.
[He may seem casual in the way he carries himself, but he is admittedly a bit melancholic about everything. First Gogol, and now Vi — it would seem that this place has a cruel tendency to take things away from him just when he’s on the verge of reconnecting with the past he never had. Oh well, but that’s just how it is with his life. Always the one left behind in the passage of time. Always the one who survives.
Dazai knows exactly how he wants his whisky, but the taste today is lacking in character.
Which is why this sudden intrusion is a welcome distraction to his thoughts. It’s clear that there’s something brewing underneath that sullen face, and he’s interested enough to figure it out.]
Go ahead and get anything you want. I’ll put it on my tab, as a treat.
[Truthfully, Dazai has no tab, seeing as he can get free drinks as the original owner. But it’s the thought that counts, right?]
[The voice rings through the air, stopping Richard on his tracks. He turns his head around to look at the lonely man in the bar.
He looks only vaguely familiar, the quick glimpse of the bandages pings a distant memory. Perhaps he is another chosen who had made this place his escape from reality? Richard himself had made it his point to visit the bar at least twice a month or so, depending his schedule. Who knows, maybe they had seen each other at the Lupin? Maybe.
Richard lingers at the door frame, thinking of the man's proposition for a bit. Well, it's really not like he has anything better to do so he might as well follow through his original plan.
Silently, he walks inside and closes the door behind him. He settles down on the stool next to Dazai, looking at the other man with a mild intrigue.]
[Richard stands out like a sore thumb in this place, to be honest. He wears as much black as someone from the Port Mafia would, but in a style that differs much from his own era. Not someone you’d expect to enter a bar, but that’s what makes his presence even more fascinating.
Dazai swirls the glass in his hand, looking at the other with an appraising eye.]
Issues in life usually boil down to three things: money, health, and love. Which one are you suffering from, I wonder?
Action - hello it's your friendly neighborhood raccoon
[ It's not out malice nor was it a targeted attack, but Dazai's place happened to get selected by RNG! Caelus just happened to walk by and was fascinated by the garbage can outside. He could not resist the temptation to open up the lid... and explore inside. ]
god i can't believe i almost forgot to reply to this one
[ Wow, there's a lot of interesting things in here! What especially catches his eyes are the nice looking cans of soda. Perhaps he should add these to his collection...
Or so he thinks, when he feels the trash can is violent tipped over with him inside, and he stumbles out, banana on his head, face to face with Dazai. ]
